The official trailer of “The Hills” is released and true to the show’s nature, it is packed with drama. Lauren Conrad is no longer the centerpiece of the reality show, but her former “Laguna Beach” rival, Kristin Cavallari is. Some like Heidi Montag have no problem with her arrival but those like Audrina Patridge despise it.
“Lauren basically told us she’s a man eater. She’s a boyfriend stealer,” Audrina said. Stephanie Pratt who joins Audrina’s camp said “She’s like a disease you can’t get rid of,” adding later “She’s the girl that’s going to stab us all in the back and she doesn’t care.”
As seen in the trailer, Kristin flirts with Justin Bobby who happens to be Audrina’s ex. Later on Audrina took a further jab, saying “These are peoples’ lives that she’s messing with. People do have hearts and feelings.”
The world of “The Hills” will not only revolve around Kristin and the mess she’s creating but also on Heidi. Now that she is a wife, Heidi has been bitten by the baby bug but her husband Spencer Pratt said he is not ready to have kids. Meanwhile, Heidi’s sister Holly Montag is considering to go to rehab.
The trailer is ended with “The bitch is back”, Kristin kissing a guy and Heidi asking Cowboy Spencer “Are you going to wear that hat all day?”
“The Hills” returns to MTV on September 29.
Lauren Conrad has burst the bubble by indicating it plain and publicly that “The Hills” is staged. During Lauren’s “The View” appearance on Thursday, June 18, host Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked her about whether she thought Spencer Pratt was being sincere when apologizing to her through phone about the sex tape rumor. Lauren said she wasn’t on the other side of the line.
Lauren was hesitant to answer the question at first but then she said, “To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t on the other line of that call.” She continued, “That was filmed and I wasn’t on the other end… So I didn’t even know about it.”
Ironically, just a few days before that, Spencer was on “The View” addressing the same issue to the women. He admitted to lying about the sex tape rumor he spread back in 2007 in order to get Lauren into his wedding with Heidi Montag. “I apologized because that is what got (Conrad) to our wedding,” Spencer said. “I said I’m sorry because (Conrad) said, ‘I will come to the wedding if you say I’m sorry.’ “
Since the apology was never delivered, Sherri Shepherd asked Lauren why she eventually came to the wedding. Lauren answered, “It’s a little hard to understand now, but a long time ago – years ago, we moved here together, we were best friends and we used to say – ‘Someday, at our wedding…’ I felt like it was a few hours of my time and as much as I didn’t agree with it, I might some day regret not doing it.”
Lauren Conrad was on the talk show to promote her debut novel “L.A. Candy” which has been in stores.
Spencer and Heidi Pratt have been facing more controversies these days, fresh from their stint on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. This morning, the two Hills stars appeared on the NBC morning news show, Today. Apparently, they didn’t leave the drama back in the jungles of Costa Rica. They took it to Al Roker for their interview. 
Speidi, recently dubbed the “newlywed nuisance” of the wild, weren’t too pleased with how the weatherman’s questioning went. The two believed that they were going to be speaking with the show’s host Matt Lauer, but they got quite a grilling from Al Roker instead. None of the parties involved were amused.
Some of the comments that Al Roker posed included calling Spencer Pratt the show’s villain, going so far as saying he was a “jerk.” He even started off by saying Speidi was “the poster children for everything that’s wrong with celebrity in this country.” Below, you can find the video clip of what happened on the Today show.
Obviously, Al Roker got on the nerves of Hills diva Heidi Pratt, because she later made an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to defend herself and her husband. “To be honest, I would never be interviewed by that man again,” she grumbled. “I really would advise women especially to be careful around him, because I feel like he definitely came and attacked me, and I did not appreciate that at all.”
Meanwhile, Spencer Pratt echoed her sentiments but with more perplexity than rage. “I’m still trying to figure out: Was the weatherman asking us questions?” he exclaimed.
His wife went on, claiming that what she underwent was humiliating and nothing she expected from the Today show. “I was shocked at how rude he was,” the Hills star continued. “I was crying afterwards because I couldn’t believe I felt personally attacked. He was yelling at me and saying, ‘Do you feel proud of this, do you feel proud of this?’ I wanted to say to him, ‘Do you feel proud of how you’re talking to me right now? I’m just a young woman and you’re coming at me so aggressively and meanly and mean-spirited.’”
As for Al Roker, he couldn’t get Speidi out of his head and even posted on his Twitter about them. “Heidi and Spencer are an interesting couple. famous for…being infamous. Bad and vacuous behavior. I think we’re at minute 11 of their 15.” He later added nonchalantly, “And the firestorm over Speidi continues. She claims I attacked her.”
While it seems as though Al Roker could’ve been too intimidating for Speidi, it’s likely that the whole incident is just another of their ploys for publicity. Of course, it’s no surprise to us if it turns out that way.
